The Emerging World Order: Its Roots, Our Legacy
Noam Chomsky is one of the few great intellectuals who have never stopped having a critical mind in the Western society. For over thirty years his opinions and his judgements, which have always seized the essence of things behind their appearance, have raised increasing interest of the public in the real nature of power.
Perhaps is the sign of my age, perhaps something else, but I cannot help thinking, more and more, about what kind of a world we are leaving for our children, grandchildren, and it’s not a very pretty picture, not one that should inspire pride.
There are quite a few grim shadows that harbor menacingly over the thoughts about our legacy and all of them are too dominant because they literally threaten the survival of the species, at least in any decent form.
One is nuclear war, the other one is environmental disaster, and not only is nothing serious being done about these challenges, but current decisions are enhancing the treats.
