While I find Tyson absolutely fascinating in many respects and very learned, he is also very crasp and over bearing at times. He has a view of the future of space flight and science funding that is in my opinion simply not realistic, and refuses to budge on it even when we can prove science would be better served going the cheaper route. Sure human envolvement in space flight and exploration is very captivating and dramatic but, science is better served when we send robots and remote sensors. It is also cheaper and less complicated to send the robots and remote sensors. Seems like a no brainer to me. That said, even if Tyson is exactly right he could have more respect for his colleagues and not insult them, talk over them, interrupt them, belittle them, etc. simply because they disagree. It tickled me at the end to see that female scientist finally just start hushing him every time he tried to over talk everyone and dominate the conversation.

his view is unrealistic? i disagree he said if we wanted to we could do it how can you disagree with that statement? and i didnt hear him say we should spend money sending people to space and his attitude man everybody has a bad day n he didnt spew garbage he added to the discussion not nicely but effectively

They are having fun for bloody sake!!!! LISTEN TO HOW MANY TIMES BILL INTERUPTS TYSON…there is level of free style here, and you have to fight back smiling and that is what they were all doing…the crowd loved it…
This is not a political debate, you have to fight back as the woman showed when she shooshed him again and again, …everyone there is laughing and they know when to fight back….
You are judging the situation from your insecure point of view.
They are smiles and they are throwing humor jabs at each other…note how Bill kept interrupting Tyson while he was talking..(franklly that was the most annoying..but Tyson and everyone else knew it was fun)…
He is not overbearing…HE IS A BIG MAN! HIS VOICE IS JUST THAT LOUDER…and his understanding of both history and science and other fields makes him weave perfect points that draw applause again and again in that audience and wherever he goes.
So the third time, you are obviously an insecure person in real life, because only an insecure person will interpret Tyson’s engagement as overbearing.

Although I liked Tyson’s conduct in this discussion, your conduct leaves much to be desired. Why make your reply a personal attack on the other person? Why not simply express your positive opinion about Tyson?
