The Poetry of Science
Two of science’s luminaries converse on the beauty of science. Neil deGrasse Tyson, astrophysicist and host of NOVA and evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins will explore the wonders of the Cosmos and of Life, its origins, its inspirations, and why science is not just an option, it is the only reality we possess.
What we can see with our sense organs is extremely narrow band of what there is to see, and this is particularly so with the vision sense.
We can see a tiny narrow band of the electromagnetic spectrum, the rainbow. But the rainbow’s width is tiny compared to the vast expanse of the electromagnetic spectrum.
Is that a kind of symbol for how limited our understanding of the universe is, because after all we are evolved beings, who evolved to understand the interactions between medium sized objects moving at medium speeds.
